U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) attend a joint session of Congress to certify Donald Trump 's election, at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, US January 6, 2025.The US Congress formally certified Republican President-elect Donald Trump ’s election victory on Monday during a session presided over by Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris , who lost the November contest.
