CONCORD — A shooting outside Sunvalley Mall over the weekend left multiple parked vehicles damaged by gunfire, but there were no reported injuries, police said.
In a statement Sunday afternoon, police said officers responded around 9:10 p.m. Saturday to reports of gunfire near the mall’s BJ’s Brewery. Despite a perimeter set-up and search, officers did not find any suspects or victims. Officers later learned that two groups of people in the parking lot outside the brewery used firearms to shoot each other before driving away in separate vehicles.
Investigators at the scene found several parked vehicles struck by gunfire, as well as multiple casings at the scene. The mall has dealt with its share of violent incidents during the last year and a half, including a Dec. 31, 2021 shooting during a robbery that led to a
