The inquiry into Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane's fitness for office continues on Monday amid concerns about the financial impact of the cost of her defence – which could reach R15 million – on the Office of the Public Protector. | gerbjan

The irony is that one of the charges that Mkhwebane's legal team, led by advocate Dali Mpofu, SC, is that she failed"intentionally or in a grossly negligent manner, to prevent fruitless or wasteful and/or unauthorised public expenditure on legal costs".
