The Lake Creek Lions will face Frisco Heritage in the Class 5A state semifinals on Friday at Red & Charline McCombs Field in Austin.MONTGOMERY — The red carpet was literally rolled out for Lake Creek’s softball players and coaches Thursday morning as the Lions departed to Austin for the Class 5A state tournament this weekend.
“It’s been very exciting,” Lions senior outfielder Shelby Winn said. “We have the opportunity to do something that is very hard to do and very special.” “We know we have a target on our back,” Lake Creek senior outfielder Payton Bauer said. “After losing a game, we know we have to come out stronger and really produce and show everyone we’re just as good and can still win.”
Hall, a senior, is 24-2 with 16 shutouts and nine no-hitters this season. She has an ERA of 0.34, with 378 strikeouts to 43 walks. She lives on a heavy curveball. Hall is also the team’s best hitter with a .539 average, 24 RBIs, seven doubles and two home runs.
