Owners of a local Utah businesses are doing what they can to support the family of fallen officer Sgt. Bill Hooser.
“We decided after we heard the news, we wanted to do anything we could to make a difference,” said Ciara Southward, COO at The Fella’s Barbershop.
The Fella’s Barbershop offered law enforcement free services through the week of May 6-11 at their Spanish Fork, Payson and Springville locations. The funds that would have gone to those haircuts and beard trims are being donated to Sgt. Hooser’s family.“We have a jar on the counter so any time they come in, they can put whatever they want in and that will go directly to the family,” said Emily Geake, co-owner of Maracas Mexican Grill and Aroma Café .
“You can just feel the energy outside, it’s sad. I know the weather doesn’t help, but it feels very sad,” Estrada said. "But it’s a nice thing to see how we are all just clicking together and supporting each other." Support for Hooser's family was seen throughout the city with memorials and flags lining the streets.
“We've seen so many officers come together," Southward said. "So many from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office. Just to hear the stories from everyone’s different perspectives."
