Community effort restores Sheffield Beach Road’s scenic charm

Community support and a bit of elbow grease have returned Sheffield Drive to one of the most picturesque in town.

'The work was quite tedious and difficult, as the root systems all had to be maintained, to prevent erosion on the slopes,' said Conservancy chair, Di Jones. Jones said a community-donated chainsaw made a big difference, as did monetary donations towards the cost of the work. The work even prompted a few residents of the road to sign up for Conservancy membership.
