Makutu who was a community activist and an Economic Freedom Fighters branch treasurer was killed on Christmas Day.His sister, Carol Nkambule, says she is not sure why her brother was targeted. “We wouldn’t really know because as a community activist, he was busy with everything. So, he stepped on many toes. As I said, if there’s water issues, he’ll be there. If there’s road issues, he’ll be there. But even if there’s family issues, he’ll still be there. If there’s issues with employers, he’ll be there. So basically, with the work that he was doing, he was creating more enemies than friends.”He was elected the EFF’s branch Treasurer three months ago.
