The downtown Dallas-based bank is leasing nearly 100,000 square feet of office space in an 11-story tower under construction on the Dallas North Tollway.

Downtown Dallas-based Comerica Inc. is heading north to Frisco with a major new operation.

Crespi said most of the workers to be housed in the Frisco facility are already located in the D-FW area. Crespi said the location puts Comerica closer to the labor force it needs for the new innovation hub. Comerica will occupy the top three floors of the new Star office tower, which began construction last year. The bank will also have a ground floor retail space and top-level signage on the high-rise.

With Comerica’s lease, the 17 Cowboys Way offices are significantly spoken for before the building even opens early next year. TIAA will occupy all of a 15-story, more than half million-square-foot office high-rise to be constructed just north of Comerica’s new location.“They are going to use that as a tool to recruit people,” he said. “It’s the shiny new stars that are going to attract the key players, and we’ve been fortunate.”
