MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections said it is on track to reach its projected 75 percent voter turnout for the 2019 midterm elections, an official of the poll body said Monday.
Comelec James Jimenez revealed that as of May 19, 74.89 percent or a total of 46.3 milion votes had been recorded based on the electronically transmitted certificates of canvass .“As of this point, we have already 74.89 percent voter turnout. So we are on track to meet the 75 percent projection that we said earlier,” Jimenez said in a press conference at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
