However, supply is a problem that’s become even more daunting for renters and young people, who find themselves house-hunting in a more competitive market while simultaneously encountering significant obstacles their parents and grandparents never faced. Heck, if one even manages to buy a home, the current generation is still disadvantaged compared to many older homeowners because they will be required to pay significantly more in property taxes because Proposition 13 more or less capped property taxes for older homeowners.
