Mounties have closed Alberta\u0027s Highway 1A after one person died in a serious crash south of Canmore Sunday morning.

Traffic is blocked in both directions as officers closed the road between Canmore and Exshaw. Drivers are advised to use Highway 1 as an alternate route. The RCMP said just before 8 a.m. they anticipate being on scene for several hours to investigate the crash.
