University of Illinois senior after repairing aeration marks on the greens

Tommy Kuhl, a fifth-year senior at the University of Illinois, informed tournament officials that he’d repaired aeration marks on the greens during his round. Repairing spike marks on greens is allowed but fixing aeration marks is not.

Kuhl was playing at a local U.S. Open qualifier at Illini Country Club in Springfield, Ill., over the weekend.
