What will happen if university and college campuses are still closed when students are set to arrive?
Jayne Fonash, president of the National Associate for College Admission Counseling, discussed the current state of college admissions for high school seniors.
"The COVID-19 epidemic struck at the time that high school seniors [were] making final decisions about enrollment for their studies for next year," Fonash said."The landscape is changing every day -- so as college admission counselors and admissions officers we are challenged every day to look at this changing landscape and support students and provide information to help them make these important life decisions.
"We are planning accordingly and will incorporate the best public health practices into those plans so that members of the BU community will feel comfortable and safe on campus upon their return for fall semester," Colin Riley, the school’s executive director of media relations said in a statement. "I think that's probably one of highest priority questions being addressed on college campuses right now because there are so many unknowns and until we have more medical information and more guidance on large gatherings," Fonash said.
