Colin Farrell admits 'your legacy is your friendships' after his Golden Globe 2023 triumph, as he opens up on starring in Martin McDonagh’s dark comedy drama The Banshees Of Inisherin
Last week, Colin Farrell, received a Golden Globe award for Best Actor In A Comedy Or Musical for his part in dark comedy drama The Banshees Of Inisherin.
But in reality, Colin – who worked with both Martin and Brendan in the 2008 Oscar-nominated film In Bruges Colin – who found fame when he starred in his first role in BBC drama Ballykissangel in 1998 – adds that he doesn’t make many phone calls to friends, but he does send texts to important people. In The Banshees Of Inisherin, Jenny – a miniature donkey – is Pádraic’s best friend. She follows him around the island dutifully, keeping him company and providing comfort once it becomes clear that Colm’s decision to end their friendship is permanent.
“The bond that we ended up having on screen might not be a result of that editorial smoke and mirrors, shall we say. I was well fond of her. She was very sweet.”
