Bannsiders striker pleased with the response after heavy defeats left them 'shocked'
Matthew Shevlin says the fallout from Coleraine's recent defeats to Cliftonville and Crusaders is testament to how far the clubs has come in recent years.Shevlin feels the reaction in some quarters was due to the progress made under Oran Kearney over the past few years.
"People are talking about a crisis but we will hang in there, look to build a bit of momentum heading into Friday night's game against Newry City and hopefully we can get another advantage. "It's a testament to how well we've done and how well Oran has improved the club in the last few years."We are a victim of our own success in the last few seasons."The Cliftonville game shocked us as much as it shocked everyone else."We got punished for that as well and it was just a bad week for us.
"We came back against Bangor on the tuesday night, yes it was a tough game and we made hard work of it, but we showed character to win the game after being pegged back in the last seconds. "I thought we were brilliant against glenavon, attacking wise we looked a threat and thankfully we got our just rewards with the win."
