Coleen Rooney makes a rare TV appearance on The One Show to talk about her upcoming Disney+ documentary.
And now Coleen Rooney has revealed that even her husband Wayne asked, ‘What have you done?’ after she posted her Twitter takedown of rival Rebekah Vardy back in 2019.The wife of the former footballer, 37, kept her detective work to herself, with her footballer husband only learning about her post accusing Vardy of leaking stories about her when it had been published.
The statement: Coleen made these claims on Instagram on October 9 2019 after discovering she had been betrayed by someone close to her and concluded that it was Vardy's account She said the attention and last year’s ensuing libel case, brought by Mrs Vardy, 41, was ‘so stressful’ that she found she wasn’t ‘mentally there’ for her children Kai, 13, Klay, ten, Kit, seven, and Cass, five.
She said of her secrecy over the post: ‘That’s the way I’ve always coped in life, that is my coping mechanism is to keep things within and not to trouble other people. Vardy, wife of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, tried to sue her for libel, but a judge ruled in favour of Mrs Rooney last year, deciding her accusatory Instagram statement had been ‘substantially true.’
Rooney also admitted she publicly named Vardy after leaks from her personal social media account to The Sun newspaper 'just wouldn't stop'. But that restraint could be tested a little when, in two months, Wayne Rooney and Jamie Vardy will be going head to head in the name of football.
