There have been calls for a probe into tenders awarded during suspended Patriotic Alliance deputy leader Kenny Kunene's tenure as the MMC for Transport.

JOHANNESBURG - The City of Johannesburg has launched a forensic investigation into allegations of corruption in its Department of Transport.

This is on the back of Kunene’s latest controversy, where he was found at the home of Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe, who has been arrested in connection with various high-profile murders. While Kunene maintains he has no relationship whatsoever with Molefe, opposition parties in Johannesburg remain concerned about his alleged proximity to the murder-accused man.

Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero said he’s aware of the ongoing concerns and has chosen to look into the allegations.
