No work will be able to start on the site until a final decision is made
The deal struck between West Northamptonshire Council and the owners of Northampton Town FC for the land surrounding the Sixfields Stadium is set to be reviewed by a judge at the end of the month.
Cilldara, which specialises in remediation of land, placed an offer of £1.8m in January 2022 for the area, which they later raised to £2.05m. CDNL placed an offer of £890k for the same land, including the four acre Running Track to the rear of the stadium. Cilldara then announced it would be applying for a judicial review into WNC's decision on June 9 2022. James McBride, Cilldara's property advisor, told Northants Live "I don't think we would have thrown the money at the judicial review if we didn't feel we'd been mistreated or badly treated."
