DA councillor Francois Bekker resigned on Tuesday in a letter sent to Tshwane City Manager Johann Mettler. However, the letter was not sent to Tshwane Speaker Mncedi Nzdwanana. When the DA realised that Bekker had resigned, the party wrote to Mettler disputing the resignation, saying the party itself had not processed Bekker's resignation and, therefore, he remained a councillor.
