A coach who worked with the player at the KZN Academy, Phelelani Mpangase has reacted on his international debut with the belief that his debut was long overdue, while giving credit to coaches who played huge role in his development.
"Sphephelo Sithole's debut was good. I think he has been waiting for this opportunity for far too long. A player who is playing against big clubs in Portugal and he should've been in the squad a long time ago," Mpangase told the Siya crew. "A product of the KZN academy, he was developed by Smart Ndlovu and Sboniso Vilakazi. They got the best out of him. When I joined the academy, he was about to leave to go to Portugal. It is very encouraging to see him grow." The former Mamelodi Sundowns defender says Sithole is a fighter with a brave attitude.
"He has is a fighter, a well-structured player who doesn't fear anything. He has a bright future and I just hope he won't return to South Africa. We must also appreciate the KZN academy for what they've been doing for the players." Close to 50 PSL players have been released from their clubs.
