To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the 1948 World Series, we’re taking a game-by-game look at the Cleveland-Boston matchup. Here’s a recap of Game 2:Larry Doby and Lou Boudreau each had two hits as Bob Lemon – who had had a breakout year, going 20-14 – scattered eight hits in the win. Lemon, who tossed 10 shutouts over the course of the season, threw 123 pitches in the victory, witnessed by just under 40,000 people at the ballpark.
