CLEVELAND, Ohio — This was the most volatile week of the volleyball season thus far, as only three teams retained their ranking in the cleveland.com girls volleyball Top 20 from last week to this week.
Only the top two teams — Lake Catholic and St. Joseph Academy — and No. 17 North Royalton are ranked in the same spot they were last week. Otherwise, some have gone up, some have gone down, but few have remained the same. The biggest shock came from Chardon, which was ranked No. 3 but falls to No. 13 after a pair of five-set losses to unranked opponents Eastlake North and Walsh Jesuit. The Hilltoppers have shown they are good enough to defeat Gilmour Academy, but since that victory in Columbus they have lost three of four.

CITY BALLET OF CLEVELAND NUTCRACKER AUDITIONCITY BALLET OF CLEVELAND NUTCRACKER AUDITION City Ballet of Cleveland is holding its annual Uniquely Cleveland Nutcracker audition on Sunday, September 17th from 12:30 pm-4:30 pm. The audition is open to all area ballet dancers ages 7 and older, with at least one year of ballet experience. Dancers auditioning for pointe roles, including Act I Snow and Act II Waltz of the Flowers, should wear their pointe shoes to audition. The 2023 Uniquely Cleveland Nutcracker performances are scheduled for December 16th at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium. A pre-registration form and $25 audition fee should be submitted by Thursday, September 14th.
