A clerk was shot during a brazen simultaneous robbery of two stores late Thursday night. The robberies took place around 10:30 p.m. Magnum Road and Lamonte Lane on Houston's Northeast Side.
Houston Police said the three suspects parked behind one of the stores. Two of the three suspects went into one store to rob it and the third suspect went by himself to rob the second store. Both groups hold the clerks up at gunpoint."The clerk sees the suspects coming towards the door that leads to the security office area," said Houston Police Lt. R. Willkens. "He reaches and tries to shut the door as quick as he can, but he doesn't succeed. They get to him quickly.
The suspect was eventually trapped inside the store when the clerk locked the door from inside his cage. The other two robbers see their buddy trapped inside the store. Police said the suspect who shot the clerk at the previous store unloads his pistol and shoots out the front door to free him. The three suspects hopped into a vehicle and drove off.The investigation is ongoing.
