The only known image of Bowmanville’s namesake is now on display at the town’s Municipal Administrative Centre.Bowman was a key figure in the early days of Clarington, buying land and donating plots to churches. According to historians, he also hired a surveyor to lay out streets in the emerging community.Officials were on-hand Tuesday to unveil the painting in its new, climate-controlled display case.
