The City of Tshwane says it will beef up security to protect bus drivers and commuters.

City of Tshwane Spokesperson, Selby Bokaba, elaborates, “The suspects are facing charges of malicious damage to property and intimidation. The TBS resumed operations this morning after almost three months of absence owing to some employees who participated in the strike action. This morning, the TBS operated 36 of the 160 daily shifts. The majority of the drivers reported for duty but refused to drive the buses.

Meanwhile, a Member of the Mayoral Committee for Roads and Transport, Katlego Mathebe, says despite challenges, bus services will continue. “A Re Yeng and Tshwane Bus Service operations remain operational amid challenges. The city will continue to forge ahead with the operations in line with the required and necessary support from the security cluster. With A Re Yeng, our morning bus shift did not experience interruptions and bus drivers attended to their posts as expected.”This website uses cookies to improve your experience.
