City of Jackson, health department clarify water conservation advisory

The state health department clarified that mechanical issues at the Jackson water plant were the primary reason for the conservation advisory, not the heat. Officials said they issued the advisory because of a recommendation from the health department.

by Alex Rozier, Mississippi Today July 28, 2022 When the City of Jackson asked residents to conserve water in late June, it stated that the water department was"anticipating increased water demand as a result of the higher than average temperatures forecast for the next several days." Since then, state health department officials clarified that mechanical issues at the plant were the primary reason for the conservation advisory, not the heat.
