The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Directorate has announced that planned maintenance will be performed in the areas of Molteno Reservoir, Brackenfell Industria and Oakdale, which will result in ‘water supply disruptions’.‘This critical maintenance work is done on our water supply infrastructure to benefit customers. Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to take note of the work that will take place and prepare accordingly,’ the City stated.

During this period, no water supply disruptions are anticipated, as the water supply from other parts of the Bulk Water supply network will be ‘rerouted to the Molteno Reservoir supply areas’.From 8am until 8pm today, the water supply to the Brackenfell Industria will be shut off. ‘This work forms part of the Water and Sanitation Directorate’s proactive infrastructure maintenance and upgrade programme, which ensures the future continuity of water supply by addressing the issue of unaccounted for water,’ the City stated.
