In South Africa, it sometimes seems Lady Justice isn’t blind to partiality in the application of the law, but rather to the injustice carried out in front of her, writes ChrisRoper.
The usual metaphors for justice are of a mill, grinding slowly, or a blindfolded woman. Lady Justice, for example, is often represented holding a sword and a set of scales, and wearing a blindfold.
