Up until a week ago, the most ridiculous thing emanating from the University of Cape I’d read this year was the description of a conference session at the launch of the university’s new design thinking school.

Though I tweeted about the launch in a mean way , I wasn’t going to write about it in an official column. After all, I too am UCT trained, which means I suffer from the same predilection to try to say things cleverly rather than clearly. It’s too easy to pick on people who do that . But after a subsequent article describing what UCT is considering doing with the rebuilding of the burnt-down Jagger Library, I’m starting to see a pattern...
