Police watchdog IOPC says a criminal investigation has been launched following the unarmed 24-year-old’s death in Streatham, south London earlier this weekTHE FATAL shooting of an unarmed black man in south London is to be investigated as a homicide police watchdog IOPC has announced.
Speaking about the launch of a criminal investigation the IOPC said in a statement: “The investigation into the fatal shooting of Chris Kaba, aged 24 from Wembley, by the Metropolitan Police Service in Streatham Hill on Monday 5 September has entered a new phase. However the police watchdog added that the launch of a criminal investigation “does not mean that criminal charges will necessarily follow”.
