In honor of Endgame's three-year anniversary, Chris Evans confirms that he, too, lost his mind when Captain America wielded Thor's hammer 😱🙌😍
Chris Evans responds to a video featuring a crowd's reaction to a Captain America scene from Avengers: Endgame. Released on April 26, 2019, Endgame served as the epic conclusion to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Infinity Saga, with a three-hour runtime and one of the most impressive casts ever assembled for a feature film. The fourth Avengers movie ended story arcs for several main characters, such as Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow.
One of the most crowd-pleasing moments that stands out among the rest is during the final battle, when Steve Rogers is finally proven worthy of wielding Thor's hammer, Mjolnir. Captain America puts the hammer to good use during the confrontation with Thanos and is able to call upon Thor's lightning to save him. Other than a rousing character-defining moment for Cap, fans have also frequently debated whether the scene is a plot hole.
Evans' reaction is also bittersweet, considering he's seemingly moved on from the role of Steve Rogers, as Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson has now taken on the mantle of Captain America. Even with the MCU behind him, Evans still has a ton of intriguing projects lined up, including Pixar's Lightyear and the spy-thriller The Gray Man, the latter reuniting him with the directors of Endgame. Evans will also reunite with Scarlett Johansson for a space movie, Project Artemis.
