As a rare new hotel build in the city, The Dorian has already turned heads with its Oscar Wilde theme which is, admittedly, a bit odd for a city in Alberta, though it’s nice to see a place branch out beyond rugged Western-focused concepts. An elegant hotel calls for an elegant restaurant, so The Dorian reserved space on its 27th floor for a luxe rooftop dining room.

Naturally, there’s also a strong list of cocktails being mixed up behind that pretty bar and a carefully curated wine list to complement the food. For something more casual, Birch also oversees The Dorian’s Prologue lobby cafe and all-day Bistro Nouvelle restaurant. Jim Wells/PostmediaThe Dandy Brewing Company is bringing back its Dandy Fest celebration of craft brews on Sept. 17, after cancelling the 2020 festival and offering a scaled-back version in 2021. Over 25 craft breweries and cideries will be represented at the event, allowing attendees to sample fun and exciting beverages from all over Canada and the United States.
