An internet search on the Vaal-born speedster would reveal that Lebitso was born on 4 March 1992, and that he would be turning 30 in two months’ time. But the player, who is in his third season with the Chilli Boys, where he was signed after being spotted in the Nedbank Ke Yona talent search, says that is not his correct age nor his date of birth.“I’d like to set the record straight on my age. I have been trying for so long to sort this thing out. It is affecting me because when teams look at possibly signing you, they see that you are almost 30 and it messes up your chances. I am only 25 years old,” Lebitso informed the Siya crew.
“I don’t know where people get the idea that I was born in 1992 but I am trying my best to fix this. My club knows that I am 25 and according to my ID book, I am 25. It is only on the internet that I am in fact 29,” he said.Lebitso has been one of the standout players for the Gqerberha outfit over the last two seasons despite the number of coaches that have come through the club.
Under Gavin Hunt, the former Tshwane University of Technology star was converted to a right full-back where he has excelled and was linked with a move to Orlando Pirates at the start of the season, although Chippa managed to hold onto the player after handing him a contract extension.
