China is trusting AI system for high-speed railway operations capable of accurately predicting faults and issuing warnings ahead of problems.

China has now fully transitioned to the use of artificial intelligence in the operation and maintenance of its rail network. This 45,000-kilometer high-speed rail network is the largest on Earth and is controlled by an AI system in Beijing.

The AI system processes a large number of data in real-time all across the country. It is also capable of alerting the teams in charge of maintenance of abnormal situations within 40 minutes. Liu Daoan, a senior engineer at the China State Railway Group’s infrastructure inspection center noted that the system is efficient.in the world. It is currently operating at 350 kilometers per hour and plans to increase to 400 next year.
