White House says U.S. will continue efforts to keep communication with Beijing as China suspends dialogue
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Friday that the U.S. would continue efforts to keep open lines of dialogue with Beijing after China said it was ending all contact with the United States on major issues, including climate change, following Speaker Nancy Pelosi's trip to Taiwan. Jean-Pierre reiterated that Pelosi was in her right to visit Taiwan, and the administration would not tell members of Congress whether they could or could not travel to the island.
