Search and rescue teams discovered what they suspect is an engine from the China Eastern plane that crashed this week
One of the two black boxes from the Boeing 737 passenger jet that crashed in the Guangxi region of southern China has been recovered, according to the country’s air-safety regulator. No survivors have been found as of Wednesday. Screengrab: CCTVHONG KONG—Search and rescue teams on Thursday discovered what they suspect is an engine from the plane carrying 132 people that rammed into the mountains of southern China, as the hunt continued for the second black box.
Airlines—nine aircrew and 123 passengers—are feared dead in what would be China’s worst air disaster in nearly three decades.
