The U.S. is hitting back at China in the latest development in the trade war with a statement saying that China is misrepresenting its actions.
"The Chinese side always believes that the differences and frictions between the two sides in the economic and trade field will ultimately need to be resolved through dialogue and consultation," the ministry says.
The comments came after the U.S. and China ramped up threats in the ongoing trade war after the negotiations fell through early May.
