Biden's Commerce Secretary demands higher pay for childcare workers. 'Our economy cannot run without these women.'
As childcare providers shuttered, women dropped out of the labor force to care for their children. Some struggled to balance work and caregiving responsibilities,Now, labor shortages abound as workers hesitate to return, and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo told Insider that childcare plays a significant role.
