Senior advocate and acting judge Paul Kennedy, who was an active participant in the running of a child sex abuse ring, killed himself because he realised his days were numbered when he was arrested, said Judge Mohamed Ismail on Monday.

Ismail made the remarks at the end of his judgment in the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg, in which he convicted Kennedy's co-accused, Gerhard Ackerman, on charges which included rape, human trafficking, sexual grooming of children, attempted murder and sexual exploitation of children.Read this for free
