It is not clear who wants it more: The Absa Premiership championship is still up for grabs after two contenders – Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns – lost their matches on Sunday, writes Timothy Molobi
On a drama-filled day, Sundowns missed a golden opportunity to go to the top of the Absa Premiership log when they dropped valuable three points against relegation-threatened Baroka FC.
In fact, Sundowns were temporarily on top of the table for about 20 minutes before Ananias Gerbhardt’s headed goal in the 20th minute separated the two sides. The results meant Sundowns remained in second spot while Baroka moved up to 13th, three points above the drop zone.
With two more rounds left, they cannot afford to lose any of their remaining matches against Chippa United on Wednesday and Baroka on Saturday.
