The big reason why Kaizer Chiefs have not been able to win any trophy for the past eight seasons could have been brought to light by a strong stance from Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos.
Broos divided opinion after stating that no Amakhosi player deserved to be in his 23-man squad to face Namibia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, based on the performances he has seen from the Soweto giants, going as far back as last season.
Going as far back as the 2018/19 season , there has not been a healthy representation of Chiefs players in the Bafana squad or other national teams, as only Itumeleng Khune, Keagan Dolly and Sifiso Hlanti would have been considered regular Bafana players and with foreign players, only Khama Billiat represented his nation.
"The type of team that Stuart Baxter assembled it was international guys, we brought Masilela, Khune was already an international, Pa Gaxa…" Parker said on"We had about nine to 11 national team players, both local and across the border, that spine was strong, it was solid, that's what gave us success.
