Chiefs Charged By PSL After Fans' Misbehaviour

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA - OCTOBER 21: Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki escorted by police after fans throwing objects on him during the Carling Knockout match between Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu FC at FNB Stadium on October 21, 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Premier Soccer League prosecutor Zola Majavu has confirmed Kaizer Chiefs have been charged for the incident at FNB Stadium on Saturday. The Chiefs supporters were once again in the headlines after the defeat to AmaZulu in the Carling Knockout after throwing objects towards former coach Molefi Ntseki after the game. As a result, the former Chiefs tactician was unable to give his usual post-match television interview and was escorted down the tunnel by police.

The Soweto giants have already been punished for three separate incidents of spectator misbehaviour and Majavu has now confirmed more charges has been brought against the club. “Earlier this afternoon, I preferred charges of spectator misbehaviour and unruly conduct Kaizer Chiefs Football Club as a sequel to what transpired in their recent match against AmaZulu this past Saturday,” Majavu said via the PSL media department.Chiefs were previously warned that if a similar incident occurs once again, they are expected to get a stadium ban in their next home fixture. For 14 free days, you can have access to the best from Soccer Laduma, KickOff, Daily Sun, TrueLove and Drum.
