Snow flurries and gusting winds will reduce visibility and could possibly coat Chicagoland roads Monday morning to start a week marked by “roller-coaster” temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.

“People should plan for a little extra time as these bands come through and prepare for maybe some sharp changes in visibility,” Yack said.Morning and afternoon snowfall throughout the region could lead to up to an inch of slushy coating on streets as cold temperatures allow the snow to stick in some places. The most snowfall is expected in northwest Indiana, where “lake effect” snow could accumulate, Yack said.
