The masters of house are back, and they’ve got a Grammy nomination to prove it.
“I did say that,” replied Stingily. “I said, ‘EPs don’t get nominated for Grammys. We’re going for a Grammy with this.”
But a lot has changed musically since then. And when the time felt right to work on another Ten City record, Stingily and Jefferson dove right in. The two said the death of one of their friends pushed them to work together on something new. Around the same time, Patrick Moxey and David Waxman of Ultra Records reached out to them about making another record. “It’s just weird how they reached out to us and said, ‘Hey, you know, we think it’s time for you all to do another album. It’s been long enough. And we think the world is ready to hear what you have to say again,’” recalled Stingily.Judging by the album’s success, the label owners were correct.

We had a bass player in Florida, we had a string section in Virginia, we had other guys working out of England and other places. And CeCe Rogers was in Jersey, he added some parts,” added Stingily.
