South Africa shines at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show with two Gold Awards for a Cape-inspired fynbos exhibit.
South Africa walked away with two Gold Awards from the Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show in London this week.
“The Chelsea Flower Show is in mid-May, which meant our proteas and fynbos were just about to flower. Kluge said winning a Gold Award at the show was the equivalent of winning an Olympic medal in the industry. “We do this for all the farmers, farmworkers, those who work in the tourism industry and just ordinary South Africans who take pride in our unique flora. Our natural heritage is something to be celebrated and conserved.”
