Chelsea are eyeing a £1.5bn Stamford Bridge rebuildThe American billionaire and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali are keen to have ‘one of the best stadiums in world football’ by 2030 it has been revealed., the club may demolish their west London stadium, and build a brand new ground on their current site. However, redeveloping the stadium or building a new one on a different site are also options.
Jonathan Goldstein, a member of Chelsea’s board, is in charge of the of the proposed project with executive vice president of planning and development for the LA Dodgers, Janet Marie Smith, is also liaising with Goldstein to help with the proposed plans. Chelsea Pitch Owners [CPO] have already been contacted by Goldstein, with the club set to bid £50m to buy Stamford Bridge’s surroundings, as they look to redevelop the area.
