Mauricio Pochettino slammed Alan Shearer for his criticism of Nicolas Jackson but conceded that the Blues striker is performing below expectations.
The 22-year-old former Villarreal forward has struggled to find consistency since his summer arrival at Chelsea, scoring just three goals in 11 appearances. His rough patchShearer was critical of Jackson's performance and hit out at the striker for his "complete lack of movement" and emphasised that "goalscorers don’t hang around on the edge of the box like he does" since their primary role is to be in a position to find the net.
Pochettino acknowledged that he saw the Match of the Day analysis and admitted that although he recognised some of the criticism during the Brentford match, he warned Shearer to stop making judgments based on a single game.“I nearly said no, but I cannot lie !
