Income from the funds will go toward the purchase of necessary equipment for the new mental health and addictions emergency department and short stay unit which is under construction at the hospital. The equipment needs include furniture to comfort patients in distress, beds and tele-psychiatry units. Both families donated the money with specific instructions that it be used to improve mental health care at the hospital.
