The river is expected to rise above the flood stage of 20 feet just after midnight tonight to a crest of 21.8 feet early Thursday afternoon.The San Jacinto River Authority has temporarily closed Lake Conroe due to high lake levels and the possibility of submerged objects, floating debris and other hazards. As of 2 p.m., the Montgomery County Emergency Management Office reported the lake level at 203.54 feet.
