Holidaymakers looking to secure the best value car hire should head to one destination in particular, according to travel experts - and it's not where you'd think
Faro in Portugal, with a daily cost of £22.82, and Antalya in Turkey, at £23.11 per day, are the second and third cheapest respectively. Paphos in Cyprus, costing £24.30 per day, and Seville in southern Spain, at a mere £25.39, complete the top five.
Laura Lindsay, Skyscanner's expert on travel trends and destinations, commented: "Hiring a car lets you get out and about to enjoy parts of your trip you might otherwise miss." For those seeking the best value car hire, Albania has seen the largest price drop year-on-year, down 34 per cent. Italy also offers cheaper car hire fees, 26 per cent lower than last year, while France and Austria also provide good value for drivers.
The best things about driving abroad include being able to see sights you wouldn't have otherwise , a sense of freedom and experiencing unique scenery . Others appreciate that it makes getting around easier .
